How can i style short hair?

I have had long hair my whole life and i just got in cut short. Right at my jawline. I dunno how to style short hair. I have a little bit of a wave so like half of my hair waves to one side and the other half is straight. I use a straight iron but it don't work. So any ideas can help alot.

well i had short hair and i couldn't do much with it. i used to pull it half way back or i would put clippys in it on th top or side, now i have shoulder lengh hair and i can do alot more with it!!
