Cute ways to style short hair?

I have my junior high reunion coming up in a couple of weeks and I would like to try styling my hair a different way.

My hair is short-ish/chin length (think Ellen DeGeneres type of hairstyle). Usually I leave it down or I flip it up using hairspray and mousse.

What are cute, inexpensive ways to style my hair for this special night?

well, curls are always fun, but can look a little too frilly on short hair. why dont you look for ways to put waves in your hair, like with a large crimper (not the 80's type, but the kind that puts big smooth waves in) or by sleeping with a few braids (if you do choose braids, apply a light mousse first). if you dont like that, hair accessories are always in. put in something jewel-toned (very popular for fall) or put on a chic headband (also suprisingly popular right now). theres the classic "blowdry it smooth and simple, then show off those fab earrings" trick. whatever you do, experiment, experiment, experiment. you dont want to be stuck with a hat and a head full of frustration on your big night. be sure beforehand what you want to do, and work on it so it comes out perfect.

If you saturate your hair in egg-whites and hang upside down until it dries then your hair will look awesome. I used to style my mohawk that way and it's real sexy!
